More and more I am disturbed with the lack of difference that "Christians" show in their lives. "Difference" means that they show a true change and separation from the ways of the world. This includes choice of words, topics, and general way of living. As I have read blogs, talked with different people, and studied the culture we live in, I am amazed at the lack of conviction in living out the Biblical Christian life. I am sickened to hear professing Christians use profanity, speak of ongoing sinful actions such as drug & alcohol use and lustfulness without a hint of repentance. If you are a true Christian, QUIT LIVING LIKE THE WORLD!!! Show the world what it is to truly live like the Lord Jesus Christ. It is a hard road, but it is worth it.

Hello Andrew,

Thank you for writing here. This topic is an interesting one. How do we live out religious lives? You write in the context of Christianity, I in Zen Buddhism. In either case it would seem important that our faith practices should "make a difference" in our actual lives. From my point of view this means noticing when I am violating a precept and correcting my conduct. I don't know that it does us a whole lot of good to beat ourselves up about our lapses or the lapses of others though. Better, I think, is to acknowledge the error, and re-enter our vow. Modeling this is the greatest teacher.

Be well.

AMEN ANDREW!! Well said.

It actually rips my heart out to see what you write of here. We are supposed to be Kingdom Citizens and as such we are to represent the King. It is hard but like you said quite well......it is worth it.
